Censorship in Arkansas…who’d a thunk?

My cousin, a librarian, forwarded this to me. I love Violet’s approach to this story and Felice Newman’s comments are spot on. I say that as someone who spent many hours in the public library secretly searching out books on sex. In fact, our library’s copy of The Joy of Sex was the most dog-eared volume in the stacks and yet rarely checked out. It was also the only book on sex. Trust me!

  1. censored books sell twice as fast!

  2. You learned about sex in libraries? I learned about it on the streets. šŸ˜‰

  3. yeah sometimes its a blessing for a book to get “censored” in a town. it makes people want to read again…

    great post!

  4. Thank you, Fox News! Violet and Felice are great fun; I totally want to be their new best faygela friend!

  5. uh . . . yeah. those traumatized 14 and 16 year old boys were so horrified after viewing this book that they spent many sleepless nights, according to their dad.

probably right, daddy, but doubtful because of trauma šŸ˜‰

asshats, asshats. they’re everywhere, even, sadly, right next door to me.
